Nepean Tournament Congratulations

Congratulations to U9 Ferguson, U12 Ferguson, U10 Nunnikoven, U10 Bell and U16B Burke on their great success this weekend at the Nepean Tournament.

U9 Ferguson (Gold)

Congratulations to U9 Ferguson for their gold medal performance this weekend. The girls played some amazing ringette, had a lot of fun and made some great memories along the way. Each and every girl played a major part on the weekend as well as in the championship game.

U10 Nunnikoven (Gold) and Bell (Silver)

Congratulations to both U10-Nunnikhoven and U10-Bell for a 1-2 finish at the Nepean Ringette Annual Tournament. After a back and forth game where both sides brought their best, U10-Nunnikhoven captured gold in a 6-5 win over U10-Bell who earned the silver.

After the game both teams were full of smiles and celebrated as friends.

U12 Ferguson (Gold)

Congratulations to the U12R Ferguson team on their gold medal this weekend in the Nepean tournament. The girls came ready to play in the final and played an outstanding defensive game against Arnprior winning the final 6-1. The girls were pumped up and excited all weekend long and their energy showed on the ice. An amazing team effort with all girls part of the team’s success.

Congratulations to U16B Burke who earned Silver in a great finals match against Nepean.

Congratulations to AAA United winning Silver at the Challenge Cup

Congratulations to current U19A player Marta Matuszewski and her fellow WORA Alumni players; Annabel Durr, Rileigh Hache, Lauren Hill and Zoe Moore and assistant coach Colleen Moore for their amazing showing at the first AAA Challenge Cup this past weekend in London, Ontario.

As members of the Ontario United Team, these talented ladies went undefeated in the round robin with a record of 4-0-1 earning them a first-place finish and a trip to the finals. After a hard-fought battle against the Southern team, they come home Silver Medalists in this prestigious tournament.


Congratulations ladies, your WORA family is very proud of your accomplishments and we wish you continued success in the coming season.

We love your slogan “a team doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be United”.

Stittsville Road Closures on Saturday for 9 Run Run

The 9 Run Run Event is this Saturday, October 14 and is a great event in our community that supports Ottawa’s fire, police and paramedic services. 

Please take note and let your teams know of the following road closures when trying to get to arenas in the Stittsville area.


  • 07:00 to 13:00 Abbott Street West – both directions will be closed from Stittsville Main Street to Westridge Dr
  • 08:45 to 09:30 Stittsville Main Street – both direction from Abbott St to Fernbank Rd will be closed for the start of the 10K and Half Marathon races.  The roadway will re-open once the last Half Marathon runner has passed by Fernbank Rd.
  • 08:45 – 09:30 Closure of 10 K route (Stittsville Main, Brae Cres, Henry Goulbourn, Cypress Gardens, Snowberry Way, Westridge from Snowberry to Abbott)
  • 08:45 to 09:45 Stittsville Main to Flewellyn  – southbound lane closed till last  half marathoner passes Flewellyn
  • 08:55 hrs to 09:30 Westridge Rd – northbound will be closed from Snowberry St to Abbott St The road will reopen once the last 10k runner has passed and is on the trail
  • 09:15 to 11:15 Flewellyn Rd – westbound only, will be closed from Main Street to Munster Rd. It will be re-opened once the last runner has turned onto Munster Rd.
  • 09:30 to 11:15 Munster Rd – northbound lane only, will be closed from Flewellyn Rd to Fernbank Rd. It will be re-opened once the last runner has turned onto Fernbank Rd.
  • 09:30 to 11:30 Fernbank Rd -eastbound will be closed from Munster Rd to Jinkinson Rd. It will be re-opened once the last runner has turned onto Jinkinson Rd.
  • 09:30 to 12:00 Jinkinson Rd -both directions will be closed from Fernbank Rd to a location north of the Trans Canada Trail (passed the turn around point). It will re-open once the last runner is on the Trans Canada Trail.

Team Canada Ringette Charity Cup

The Ringette Charity Cup will support the local Team Canada players: Jasmine LeBlanc, Allison Biewald and Kaitlyn Youldon.
The tournament is being held for Petite and Tween aged players.
The event is a five-team round robin: each team plays four games. After the round robin, the top two teams play in a final. 
Each game is approximately 9 minutes in length of running time.
The date is Saturday, November 11, 11 am to 1 pm at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata.
The fee will be $50.
