It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that our ringette family has lost one of our own, Alan Monfette died on November 15th after a courageous journey with cancer. Alan is well known to a number of WORA families for his coaching presence on many of our benches over the last 10+ years. His dedication and commitment to the sport of ringette will be missed. Alan’s wife Kerry Carruthers and their children Emma and AJ are welcoming friends to a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 24, 2018, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the ALE-Amberwood Lounge and Eatery on 54 Springbrook Drive in Stittsville. Have you heard? Ottawa has been selected to host the 2020 Canadian Ringette Championships. As with any event of this magnitude, volunteers will be essential to its success. The organizers anticipate needing over 200 volunteers! Interested in helping out? Attend the upcoming Volunteer Information Night to be held Dec. 4 at 7:00 pm at Jim Durrell Arena.

The U8 Wild Unicorns of Doom rocked the Nepean tournament this weekend. They worked hard in every game improving all their skills and had a ton of fun. Way to go!
On November 18th the NRL game matchup between the Ottawa Ice and Gatineau Fusion will be a BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME!!
Please join the Ottawa Ice NRL team to raise awareness and support individuals and families affected by breast cancer. ALL proceeds will be donated to The Ottawa Hospital Breast Health Centre. The event will feature a pink-themed bake sale so don’t forget to bring some change!!! After the game, you are invited to meet the players for an autograph session!
The hosting Ottawa Ice team would love your support to make this event a huge success once again this year! Ringette players, fans, family and friends from across the region are invited to attend the game and cheer on the two teams.
