The WORA Bunny program kicked off this weekend for beginners age 4-6 years. It’s not too late to join the fun! Visit our Bunnies Information page for all the details on how to register.
The 2018 – 2019 season is set to kick off. The Bunny program is focused on developing skating ability, introducing ringette skills and having fun. Here is some information for you about our program: https://www.westottawaringette.com/registration/bunnies/
The season will begin on October 6th at 8am for all Bunnies at GRC-A. That day we will be introducing ourselves to the kids and splitting the Bunnies into groups. Groups will be determined by both age and ability.
After the groups have been determined, you will be told whether your child’s next ice time will be at 8am or 8:50AM on October 13th.
We Need Volunteers!!!!
The program has been a success in the past because of the great volunteers we get. Please consider being part of the program. You don’t need to know drills, and guidance will be provided for all volunteers. Here are some of the positions we are looking for:
- Manager (one for Senior Bunnies and one for Junior Bunnies) – this role will handle communications around scheduling and social events, and coordinating Bunnyfest and the grocery card program. Remember, all responsibilities can be delegated, so all offers of help are welcome. Many hands make light work!
- Coaches and on ice helpers to demonstrate skills and help with drills. No experience or certification is necessary.

West Ottawa Ringette’s Bunny Program is a learn to skate/introduction to the ringette program which runs every Saturday morning at the Goulbourn Recreation Complex.
The Bunny season lasts from late September to March, but children can register and start playing anytime throughout the season.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Sport, through the Ontario Sport & Recreation Communities Fund, has provided a grant to West Ottawa Ringette to enable more young girls to try the sport of Ringette. As a result of this funding, West Ottawa Ringette has equipment to loan to 26 new Bunny players!
